After a month of wrapping, washing and antibiotics, Brutus has not completely healed and has in fact gotten worse since we stopped the first antibiotic 2 weeks ago.

We began laser treatment and its seems to be working well to heal the original toe and the other swollen toe began to ooze all over after the first treatment.  This caused him to have to wear his socks 24-7 unless he was bandaged for bed.  After the second treatment, the swelling on the other foot began to ooze and seems to be improving already.

We also started him on a different course of antibiotics and things were looking up.  Brutus is due for his 3rd laser treatment tomorrow.  Of course, instead of this going smoothly, low and behold a wrinkle has occurred.

In his outer toe that was swollen and began oozing after the first treatment, we now have a 1/4 inch hole.  A hole, out of the blue.  Could it be that the laser treatment drew all the infection out and left in its place a lovely hole?  Who knows.  If this is the start of some real healing, I will take it.

We will see the vet tomorrow briefly before the next treatment. Unfortunately the nice long walk I had planned before the treatment to make him sleepy, will have to be skipped.  It will be a long wiggly 15 minutes of treatment.
